BASIC CONCEPTS OF SEDATION
It is important to know that sedation is a particular technique studied and developed by Dr. LANGA. He discovered that by administering a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide to the patient, we can completely eliminate the state of ANXIETY and FEAR experienced by various patients before dental treatment.
It is essential to note that the nitrous oxide concentration in the mixture cannot exceed 70%. It is well known that the gases used in sedation are the same as those used in anesthesia. It is crucial not to confuse the two practices. The SEDATION MACHINE does not allow for total anesthesia of the patient.
The important effects derived from sedation concerning the oral apparatus are:
A slight reduction in pain perception;
Less frequent swallowing;
Significantly reduced nausea sensation.
Sedation is a treatment administered by the dentist to help the patient feel better and more relaxed. It is also beneficial for the dentist to work with minors without stress and without wasting time.
Note: The device does not include oxygen and nitrous oxide cylinders. They can be purchased and refilled from distributors of medical gas cylinders. Linde Gaz Romania.
